Grace and greetings may still be bestowed on a prophet who will not have a prophet after him, Prophet Muhammad SAW. to all his family and friends.
We can stand here, can enjoy school today, of course we will be very grateful and will really learn when we know the history so that you can go to school like now.
On this occasion, we celebrate one of the historic day which is of course celebrated every year since the death of Ki Hajar Dewantara namely National Education Day which falls on May 2.
Ladies and Gentleman
Let's look again carefully at the struggle of Ki Hajar Dewantara and his comrades in arms to support the development of education in Indonesia.
It should be appreciated, remembered, and preserved . Like Raden Ajeng Kartini and dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo who devoted himself to concern for education in Indonesia.
They fought tirelessly so that education in Indonesia could truly be enjoyed by all Indonesian people.
They didn’t figh for themselves, but for others, for us.
It was they believe of all countries that education is one of the essential factors that is very influential for the development of the nation.
The low level of education of citizens means that the views of other countries are also low.
Observe the fact that shows that the progress of a country depends on the progress of the education of its citizens, the progress of mindset, mentality and creativity.
All of that can not be separated from the education system that is applied.
May 2 to be exact is National Education Day.
The day when education was born in Indonesia. May 2 is designated as National Education Day to coincide with the birth of one of the educational figures we all know, namely Ki Hajar Dewantara with real name: Raden Mas Soewardi.
Commenting a little on the struggle to advance education in Indonesia, he had founded one of the student parks on July 3, 1922 for a populist school in Yogyakarta.
Then he also had time to write various articles which essentially protested various policies of the colonialists (Dutch) which sometimes killed and hindered the growth and development of education in Indonesia.
To realize and build a world of education in Indonesia, which he was trying to do during colonialism by the Dutch colonialists, he used the motto Tut Wuri Handayani.
This motto comes from the original expression Ing Ngarsa Sung Tulada, Ing Madya Mangun Karsa.
This motto is still used in our world of education until this reformation era. Even with that motto, it has slightly changed the color of our education in Indonesia today.
National Education Day May 2 2009 has an important meaning in the Indonesian national education scene.

Entering the 21st century, education has a clear direction, namely to dignify Indonesian people on the international stage.
